Steve Pearce (Managing Director, CMS)Steve commenced his seagoing career in 1984 when he joined the British Royal Navy. He served with the Royal Navy for 15 years up until 1999 having gained the rank of sub lieutenant. Between 1984 and 1990, Steve was initially engaged as a qualified diesel/petrol/refrigeration engineer at sea. During the latter part of his service, Steve served for a period of two years as officer in charge of the Falmouth Naval Sailing Centre in the UK which offered RYA courses. Steve's sailing experience incorporates UK Coastal and channel sailing, South African and Caribbean waters and partial Atlantic crossings. During his time at Falmouth, Steve graduated as a dinghy instructor and a coastal skipper. Part of his career involved managing the Flight Planning section at Culdrose, seven years as Air Traffic Control officer, three years as senior instructor at the Royal Navy warfare school and one year as instructor at the school of helicopter control. Following his retirement from the Navy, Steve has in recent years been involved with Caribbean yachting and has been engaged in deliveries, engineering and surveying work. Steve is a British national, resident in St. Lucia since 2000.
Paul FerrisPaul started sailing in the late 70's with the Little Ship Club on the East Coast of the UK in London. In 1997 after running a company in London for 20 years, Paul worked for a River Medway tug firm. In 1998, he became mate on the ex-City of London Medical Officer's cutter, a 110ft hospital ship. During this period, he spend the winter months as manager of SeaWork Shipyard in Essex which did yacht/ship repair and salvage work. The last four years have seen Paul in the Caribbean as captain of a charter yacht. Starting at Beque, moving on via Trinidad and calling at most Caribbean islands from Trinidad to Martinique, the "Tjeldoy" was a 107ft former Norwegian ferry. |
